I ALSO AGREE! While I was in New York a couple of weeks ago I had the
opportunity to see Incognito in concert (no doubt promoting the new
album), but I went and saw FRED WESLEY INSTEAD!!!!! I had the chance to
borrow a copy of 100 and rising off a friend, and I too found the album
to polished and smooth (however, I didnt mind the BARUMBA track). The
other night, I was discussing the latest sound coming out of Incognito
(new singer, for example) and we both agreed that we liked the old group
much better, esp. their older album JAZZ-FUNK (very good!). I asked Paul
E. why they sounded more raw then, and he said something which stuck -
"They had a lot less money back then!". Think about that!
