Penalied for buying vinyl?

You've got a label like Ninja Tune. Why do you think a label that is so
vinyl oriented - whose whole image relies so heavily on vinyl, - where a
signicant number of the artists are DJs and use vinyl a lot in their tracks
- they even have a logo of a ninja throwing a record - why would they
actually penalise those who buy vinyl copies of their albums? The CD has 24
tracks on it, and, if I remember correctly, the vinyl has 19 tracks. That's
about 20 to 25 minutes of music that the vinyl-buying public are not getting.
Surely it would have been easy enough to include those 5 tracks on another
slab of vinyl? Or if that's not financially viable, restrict both the vinyl
and CD releases to the same size. There must be a lot of vinyl collectors
who get a bit pissed of at not being able to get the whole album.
It seems to me that those very people who share Ninja's philosophy regarding
vinyl, are the one's being penalised.
But - what do I care? I only buy CDs. :)
Marc.
