Well, the first advice is to get *real* DJ gear to practice on... that
means you need 2 technics SL1200s (don't even ask if you can use other
turntables... you can't), DJ needles and cartriges, a reasonable mixer
(with crossfader), some "earmuff" style headphones, and a stereo with some
bass response.
Next you have to practice. A lot. And remember, *no one wants to lsten to a
DJ practice*! No One! Then make a tape when you're good enough and go to
every party that is within your genres and give out lots of copies of your
tape.
You may have to work for free for a while to establish yourself but if
you've put in the work and have talent, paying work should come.
