I don't know if anyone caught it this month, but Bravo had a special on Red
Hot and Rio. They showed EBTG live doing Corcovado and interviewed them
throughout the show. The special also showed live clips from PM Dawn/Flora
Purim/Airto, ACJ/Sting, and Caetano Veloso (solo) and videos from David
Byrne/Marisa Monte, Stereolab (without Herbie Mann), Gilberto Gil, Chico
Science and DJ Soul Slinger, and the old Stan Getz/ Astrud Gilberto video
for Girl from Ipanema. They showed a bunch of other clips, but only
briefly.
I suspect that it will probably be released on video/ld with some extra
footage
since a lot of the videos were edited. I taped it just in case...

Jazz.

I bought this just for the multimedia cd-rom (well worth it for the
interviews with heads of Acid Jazz, Dorado, Boogie Back, Talkin' Loud, and
a
few others - as well as the cool "be your own dj" program) and didn't
really
expect much from the music. I wrongly assumed it would be another bad mix
disc. I was pleasantly surprised with the tunes however. It's an incredible
cd. Lots of groovy aj with a great mix of instrumentals and vocal cuts,
many
of which I had never heard before. Reminds me a bit of some of the stuff on
Luv N' Haight. The cover is cool too. Completely recommended whether you
have a computer or not.
