They rehearse at the same studios as my band and I saw them about
three or four weeks ago. They had always been one of these band that I
wanted to see live (and I'd heard some really good things about them)
but when they were rehearsing, it certainly didn't sound up to much.

I think they're using less personnel or something - even the anthems
like 'Good Lover' sounded awful!

Also, I managed to get the Raw Stylus album (at last). It certainly
does sound like they've been produced by Gary Katz (he produced Steely
Dan and the Groove Collective) and there are various member of the
Groove Collective who play on the tracks. On the down side, they
played the Jazz Cafe recently and some of my mates said that it was
not exactly earth shattering - maybe the new stuff just takes a bit of
listening first.
