Tim,

acid jazz is very often five or six musicians in a room playing
instruments with strings and drum heads in a funky way. its often free flowing,
like jazz, hence the name. bands like the heavies, Jamiroquai, Groove
Collective, et. al. do just this. you are being foolish to include their
names when arguing for jungle. if you are going to compare jungle to acid
jazz, talk about Portishead, or Massive Attack, or Depth Charge, or some band
that creates music in the same way that jungle is created. your argument will
make more sense that way.

im not trying to excuse acid jazz fans who are dissing jungle. no doubt those
are the people who are in it for the funk and can simply not dig where jungles
at. i personally believe jungle has no business being near a dancefloor, but
im cool with it. everyone has to understand that jungle is a movement in
music much like acid jazz and must be respected for being new and different,
like acid jazz has been.

lets just try to stay out of dis mode, y'all. tim, thanks for holding back
your ire, 'cause had you busted out against acid jazz, i would have had to
jump into it hardcore with you. im trying to be reasonable, i appreciate your
tact.

lets all move together, y'all. whether its a groovy, jazzy 4/4, or a hectic
jungle break, there is still a One. lets all get on it, shall we?

peace and love,

verb
