Well, Double Vision I haven't heard, so we'll just skip right over that one....

The Whole Thing is a project of the trumpet player for the Heavies (and
features Mr. Kincaid on drums). I haven't listened to it in a while, so I
can't give you a super accurate description, but the sound is towards the
'straight' jazz end of things. More smooth than funky, ifyaknowwhatimean.
A nice record, all in all. To give you an idea of where it's ended up in my
collection, I play it a couple times every month or so for some refreshment
from the onslaught of beats coming off my turntable.... (sounds like it's a
candidate for an album with 'staying power' ;)
