I know we've all had discussions on these kinds of "What's going on in...?"
posts. I'd just like to say that for large cities (i.e. London, New York,
SF) known for Acid Jazz, I feel that SOMEONE should compile a list of
weekly events and post it on this list or on a web page somewhere. I do a
weekly list for Los Angeles (don't know if people actually read it), but
it's something.
I think there's no excuse that major Acid Jazz towns like London or SF
don't have anything similar. I hope some of you can prove me wrong.
Also, not to pick on Erik Boralv, but there's a lot of
stuff on the Web page that needs updating, especially the "local clubs"
section. To be fair, I propose that someone (or someones) help him with that
effort. I'd also like to see a (hopefully) comprehensive list of Acid
Jazz bands/artists with links to their homepage or fan page on the main
Acid Jazz page.
The Acid Jazz web page is one of the most heavily-referenced pages I've
seen on the Web, but unfortunately it's seriously lacking in relevant and
timely content (where's the new Ubiquity page? Where's the Groove
Collective page?), and it's not very eye-catching either. Again, I'd like to
stress that it's NOT the fault of Erik Boralv, who maintains the page,
and I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's probably a very
busy person or whatever reason. Perhaps we should all think of a revision
plan for the web page and have creative- and HTML- minded people contribute.
