there's some new stuff i'm involved w/here in lala land.
on mondays i'm at the room (1626 cahuenga bl. hollyweird--1/2 blk s. of hollyw
bl.). derek from int'list (my friday nite gig)/dubwise is starting "the move".
it features spoken word, singers, and dj t-bird (me). i'm gonna be spinning
rare groove & 70s classic soul. there's no cover (so drink up!) and it should
happen about 11p.
i'm kicking off a new thing on sunday june 23. it's jazid up! @zabumba (10717
venice bl. w.l.a.--1 blk. w. of overland av.)and it features my dj crew
stereotypes (me & jr. roach), and members of "the network". the premiere gig
will feature my band pmjq (post-modern jazz q-tet), and members of jibe are
rumored to show... jibe will be performing the next week (june 30), and
indigenous colors should be there soon (the guitarist, ray, is a listee)!
the venue is a brazilian restaurant, so the dj sets will probably have a latin
flavor to them, but mostly a/j. the food is good and the cover is $2 (added
to your check or your 1st drink). it kicks off @ 8pm and the band comes on @9
so you can come even if you have to work on monday! please come out and
support us!
