Right now I'm listening to this Brownswood 2 compilation finally... overall
pretty good. I'm diggin' the Kruder + Dorfmeister cut... I first heard this
when Paul Craven of On The One spun it in New Orleans at a party I DJed at.
What is funny is then (5 months ago), it sounded like this radical jungle
cut to me. But I wasn't really listening to drum n bass then. Now, hearing
it again, and after being exposed to much more jungle, it doesn't sound
like jungle at all! Quite tame, actually, though the K+D touch give it that
sensual edge that is their trademark. Funky and nice. The cut is called "A
Tune For Us", by the way.

Amen! When I first heard this track I was blown away. I like it more than
Deep Shit Part I & II, and I like that track A LOT! I didnt think it had much
jungle influences at all, but I agree, "sensual" is an awesome adjective for
this track as well as "powerful." I like to turn down the lights and blast it-
it is definetly an emotionally charged piece of music for me.

One of the K&D interviews I read somewhere was mentioning how when the UFO
crowd was putting together Multidirection II, Raphael Seebag called up K&D and
left on the answering machine the sample that is at the beginning of the song:
"Allo- this is Raphael from UFO Tokyo and we're putting the material
Multidirection II together and we would like you to do a tune for us, a tune
for us," (or something like that)

Anyway, I dont know if Brownswood's Multidirection II is out in the US or if it
is an import, but there are some nice tracks on it.

Oh, also, I was ruttin' 'round the net and I jumped from Elson's JIBE page to
Daniel Hirschkoff's pages and I saw that his website represents Schkoonk
Heepooz or whatever they call themselves now (maybe just Schkoonk!) - so does
anyone know where I can find more of that? I am intoxicated by that flute!

Arigato!
