Are you sure? What about an album called "Pass The Peas" (spelling?) which
is supposed to contain the brilliant "Blessed Blackness". From my last trip
to NYC I remember a second hand record store in Greenwich Village which was
stocking at least five different original vinyl pressings of JBs albums (for
an average price of 200$).

Yes, it's from 1988 actually and features the Byrd/Anderson family as well
as Maceo, Fred and Pee Wee. It came out on the German Rythm Attack Label.
IMO it's nothing compared to Maceo's "Live On Planet Groove". The quality
of the recording isn't too good either.
Track list:
Bobby Byrd - I Need Help
Lyn Collins - Think
Marva Whitney - Is's My Thing
Carleen Anderson - Free
Vicky Anderson - Respect
Fred Wesley - House Party
The JB's - In The Middle
Bobby Byrd - I Know You Got Soul
Maceo Parker - Soul Power / Cross The Track
The Carleen Anderson track is rather embarassing. Sounds like Teen-Carleen
is imitating a circular saw.
Patrick.
