You're looking at this from the inside out...inside the recording industry,
inside what you perceive as the AJ culture, etc.

But from the outside looking in, Mariah Carey might make a jungle-type
album because the mainstream now finds this type of music more acceptable,
for example, to the virgin ears of some 12 year old girl from long island,
or less offensive to a 40 year old yuppie in long beach. Let's face it,
being a mainstream pop artist, Mariah just wants to be appealling to the
masses (and let's not forget...sell records). And, "the masses", just like
you or me, get tired of hearing the same old stuff.

We all want something fresh and new.
