Then I feel sorry for you. Although his mix of "Runaway" has gotten props
from a number of people/publications, I can't stand it. He totally
destroys the vibe of the track, making it almost unrecognizable except for
the guitar line and the vocal sample (I thought it was "play those vibes"
rather than "play those styles" because that's a line from the track). But
Van Helden is on fire from his Tori Amos and Faithless remixes, so this
will probably be worn out in clubs.
If it's of interest, CD Now has the NuYorican Soul LP (yes, vinyl) on sale
for like $17. For those who still buy wax, I recommend it because it's a 4
record set on 180 gram vinyl. There's also a promo verion of the new
single "It's Alright I Feel It" featuring Jocelyn Brown with another house
remix of "Runaway," this one done by Mousse T. Finally, there's a Masters
At Work homepage, but I have no idea who did it because it looks
incomplete and there are typos on the site. I think it's
www.mastersatwork.com.
