I agree with this entirely.
the pre-orders are going to be the single-handed determinant of whether or not
this project comes to fruition at all. So listees, we are working to ensure
you of a CD of the highest quality possible with limited resources - it is up
to you (esp. all those lurkers out there) to make this happen too.
But as a reminder, I think it is preferable to get into the financial part of
this a little later, once we have material ready to go.
Kevin, in the meantime if you want to make a little report on what quotes you
may have gotten for CD pressing, that will be good, because we'll probably
want to find out what the minimal number of pre-orders can be to support this
thing.

I don't think that should be necessary. I proposed a plan where the comp
will "exist" on a web page, where
listees can see and hear what it would be like, then pre-order their copy.
Once we make enough from the pre-orders, then we can have the CDs pressed.
That way, everyone (or at least most everyone) will have a stake in the
project.
