No way close not even in the party scene. Jungle does not equal Miami
Bass. Please no.

Carlos,
In my part of the world, the closest thing to jungle people listen to is
Miami Bass. If you have ever seen a Luke Skywalker or 2 Live Crew video,
then you know how folks around here dance to jungle beats. If you
haven't,
imagine a bunch of people moving in such a manner that it looks like
they're
vigorously screwing the air, like their life depended on it.
A lot of the newer Miami Bass acts cut their songs at about the same
tempo
as jungle. Both styles sound pretty much the same to my ears.
The kinda dancing you mentioned sounds like that rave trance dance stuff
to
me. Not my bag either. Actually, I used to go enjoy going to raves and
starting mosh pits when the DJ's played more aggro sounding tunes. :-)

While imatit: On New Years eve I was at a party, the dancefloor was
packed
out. The DJs that night I knew were junglist to the bone and I knew it
was
a matter of time before they dropped some. Sure enough a half hour set of
jungle was dropped. All good stuff much of it which I own myself. I then
waited to see if anyone on the dancefloor could actually *dance* to
jungle
'cause I ain't seen anyone who can yet -straight up (and I'm not talking
no all purpose quirky jerky sh1t). Sure enough the crowd eventually
thinned out to a couple of inebriates who were dancing way out of time.
This is no dis to those people 'cause as a club promoter I thank God for
anyone who will either break the ice or maintain when its needed. My
question is how do folks dance to jungle in your hood?
