Welcome to the list and to the realm of grooves. As you may know,
the term acid jazz applies to a broad spectrum of styles ranging from
neo bebop jazz, psychedelic funk, soul, hip hop, to the kinds of sounds
produced by outfits such as Massive Attack, Portishead, etc. Since, you
are new to the scene, perhaps you could listen to acts with a more
mainstrem appeal for starters, which include:
- Jamiroquai (Emergency on Planet Earth, Return of the Space Cowboy,
Travelling Without Moving)
- Brand New Heavies: Heavy Rhyme Collection (definitely a must listen to)
Brother Sister
- Galliano: the new album
- Groove Collective: We The People
- Incognito: 100 degrees and Rising
- Massive Attack: Blue Lines ( my favourite), Protection
- Morcheeba: Who r u gonna Trust
- Beastie Boys: The In Sound from Way Out (an instrumental compilation of
their previous numbers...really excellent grooves...you should check this
out).
