In reference to your Coldcut comment i have to say i agree... with no
disrespect to them (i love their stuff and they have been innovating
for a long time) i find a lot of it to be self indulgent and i was
actually bored during thier set. (this is in reference to the show at
Fluid in Philly last Thurs.) A lot of the stuff (for me personally) gets
to be overkill and tends to drag on for too long... Plus a lot of it was
just on the bad trip tip. People screaming, mass destruction, etc. etc.
I guess it depends on what you're into. Although i have to say i'm glad
i got to witness the atomic moog song live with visuals! Very intense.
Also got a kick out of the whole Jello Biafra spoken word thing. Anyway
Koala ripped shit as per usual and i picked up his mixed tape
Scratchcratchrachach and it's probably the best thing i've heard as far
as sound collage turtable-as-an-instrument experimentation goes. It's
funny as shit too...
