Happy Easter everybody!
I got to spend last night at home in front of the tv and saw some of the =
music we love to write about is getting quite some airplay. I saw a =
one-hour live concert of Ben Harper (Rockpalast) on german telly. Their =
big bass player is fatitious! a concert and an interview with Nina =
Miranda (Smoke City) on NBC in which she said that she does some songs =
in Japanese as well, anybody heard these songs? She told that her father =
is Brazillian and her mother English.=20
I saw Incognito with a song of the 100% & Rising album on MTV (Europe) =
and a lot of good Hip Hop on The Pitch, a Dutch rapshow on TMF ( =
22.00-23.00 every Sunday).=20
This week's acquisitions:
Weldon Irvine - Time Capsule,Hubbub Records, I love this album, great =
souljazz and funky tunes, an album that I should have picked up a long =
time ago.
Batucada Por Favor sampler - Airto Moreira & Bob Azzam, a tasty =
tentalizer of the album on Mr Bongo. The real Brazilian percussion party =
stuff. Anyone seen the album? According to Mr. Bongo himself it should =
have been released a week ago
Mucho Macho - Hey Charlie/Lightning, white12" electronic club music, =
tweaking noises - "Hey Charlie how are you - hi Joe" - deep lirycs :) =
and nice breakbeats.
Smoke City - with you 12", Jive another beautiful song of the "flying =
away" album.
with a "burst bumpin vocal mix' for all you party people.
Shabaam Shadeeq - Sound Clash/5 Star Generals 12", Rawkus! yup, =
excellent hip hop from the Rawkus stable, is the "Lyricist Lounge" lp =
out yet? I need that!=20
