Instead, I'll be throwin' down my own jams (i.e., DJin') from 8:30pm to
midnight or so over at Botanica, the old knitting factory space on 47
E. Houston between Mott and Mulberry (NYC kidz, in case yr gettin'
confused). Come on by and get greased for the show, since the drinks
are cheaper and stiffer than at those big heep nightclubs....
Much of those "Legendary Grooves" I do possess. Though I didn't see
much mention of Jamaican (i.e. Jackie Mittoo, Toots and the Maytals) or
Latin (Fania All Stars, Willie Bobo) grooves, which measure up equally
(in my not so humble opinion) to the funk.
Also, again rehashin' an older thread, still thoroughly enjoyin' the
Major Forces Box set...old skool with that beautifully warped Japanese
sensibility; a must.
