How sweet the sound..
I must agree. I've had the Casino 12" for a little over a year now,
and I still think it's one of the best records I own. I've been looking for
a copy of the full length, but as far as I know, it's not available in the
states. My friend Harry (also on this list) has a copy of the full length
on cassette, and what I've heard from that shakes my booty, so to speak.
Check out the Wall of Sound website for more information.

The Propellerheads certainly had some really solid releases way back when.
I remember buying the Spybreak! 12" a week or two after I bought the
Wiseguy's Casino 12", and that was a little over a year ago if I remember
correctly. It really depresses me to think that a label like Wall of Sound
can continually put out some really good stuff (see also the Dig The Nu
Breed compilation), only to be RE-released and PAINFULLY, DIGUSTINGLY
OVER-marketed on DreamWorks. I mean, our radio station got a couple copies
of a few 12"s that had already been released on Wall of Sound, only to be
re-released on DreamWorks (see: History Repeating 12", note the irony!)..
But that's not so bad; what makes me mad is seeing the insane amount of
posters, GIANT stickers, etc. they included in the package. As cool as that
kind of stuff can be, it really bothered me to see it come from a bigger
label, where I know it's about grabbing attention/more sales/more
money...not about how cool it would be to have a Ninja Tune sticker. If it
were from Ninja Tune or Wall of Sound, that sticker might as well already be
on my car, but I feel sick when I see that same picture of the
Propellerheads on 13 different pages in the same issue of CMJ, URB, etc...

I apologize for any unpositive ranting. On a positive note: I am excited
to see artists really making an impact on the history of music itself with
consistently solid releases on Wall of Sound, Ninja Tune, Mo'Wax, Cup of
Tea, Clear, and the like...without having their souls overmarketed by larger
super-labels.
