greetings:
I am fairly new to the list. I just wanted to send a shout-out. Please keep
the vibes flowing. I am grateful to be getting wind of a lot of great
projects. I wanted to pass along some info regarding an event I am down with;
it's not really an acid-jazz event, but the music should be tight and I
recommend that those who will set foot in NYC come check it. Of course, the
cause is worthy, and that goes along way...

JULY 9, 1998
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
MUSICIANS AND SPEAKERS "UPRISE FOR TIBET"
World Artists For Tibet, Uprise Productions, and BOHA Entertainment, Inc. will
come together to produce UPRISE FOR TIBET at CBGB's on July 23rd, 1998. This
concert will be held to bring attention to a major issue facing the world
today: human rights violations occurring in Tibet. Various speakers selected
by the World Artists for Tibet will express their views concerning the current
situation. The evening will feature a first: at the opening ceremony, a
Tibetan monk will bless CBGB's and this event!
Uprise For Tibet will include Live Performances from some of today's most
musically engaging and culturally diverse engaging emerging new artists,
including: the conscious groove music of the World Artists For Tibet Band
(8pm); the delicate, ethereal sounds of Tibetan refugee Dadon (9pm); the
majestic soul-core vibrations of Faith (10pm); the uplifting militant
"rockers" music of John Brown's Body (11pm); the funk hard-core energy of Funk
Face (midnight).
Please help us spread the good word as we bring together these conscious
singers, players, speakers, and other good-natured human beings all under the
CBGB's roof to raise awareness of the plight of the Tibetan people. This
promises to be a unique night of music, and a celebration of humanity and
