All I can say is "don't rush".
OK, I would have _loved_ another "Thrust" or "Survival of the Fittest",
but I knew it was unlikely to live up to that expectation. But even so I
was disappointed that the band barely even gets going. If you know the
old records you'll know exactly what kind of jam these people were
capable of - but there's hardly any of that sort of stuff here (they
manage to get a bit of a head of steam going towards the end of the
penultimate track, but it all ends too soon. It says a lot that the
average track length here is about 5 minutes.) It's not actually _bad_ -
it just sounds like the Headhunters we all know and love on
tranquilisers, with somewhat cheesier tunes and some anachronistic
touches.
There are some good things: the tune "Tip Toe" with N'dea Davenport is
very nice. You get a lot of that lovely Paul Jackson bass sound too...
