Mosdefinitely! i kinda went out on a limb being so brash and foward on
this subject, but fuck 'em if they can't take the truth. Alot of
people's minds are getting sucked dry from the Big Conglomerate Record
Companies who have no interest on helping the human spirit (SOUL).
Whether some like it or not, someday shit will get hectic in a serious
way. So by bringing more positive music with good messages or SOUL to it
will uplift the listener, instead of letting the sink deeper. I'd like
to see more people coming together and challenge the System (Music,
Media, Gov't., Big corp.,and Justice)!!!
If you want Change, stir some shitup and make people think about the
problem so we can settle on a solution. Music is SO important!!! Don't
let Big Brother get ahold of artistic control. Just look at all these
new rap videos, the imagery is so dark and negative or the wack element
of Puff Daddy, Lil Kim, LL Cool J,etc. is all about materialism without
any SOUL. Marvin Gaye, Minnie Ripperton, John Coltrane, and Billie
Holiday would be so disappointed in theurrent state of music. I'm sorry
people took my comment the wrong way toward BET. But I was saying even
BET plays some videos that dont have any SOUL or positiveness to it.
Justwatch and get back to me! Peace to all the REAL Hip Hop (Gangstarr,
Jeru, Roots, Mosdef, Mood, Company Flow, Goodie Mob, De La Soul, Tribe
Called Quest, Organized Confusion, Aceyalone/ Project Blowed,
Heiroglyphics, Public Enemy, etc.)!!!!!
