As probably one of the only members of this list from Istanbul I feel
the responsibility to send this mail to you all. I apologize in advance
to anyone who is inconvenienced by this off-topic post.
But just to fill you in, the situation here has been horrific as death
and destruction permeate the air. Everyone knows somebody who has lost
family and friends. The relief response has been mixed as it has been
mostly the average citizen who has lended a hand to help the quake
victims. The physical and emotional trauma will last a long time.
