Pete and all Groove Junkies,

I saw Chile (sp?) of TLC wearing an Acid Jazz label beanie knit cap, so
actually these R&B groups, or at least TLC, know what Acid Jazz, DnB, etc.
are.

I know this is going to piss folks off but I think TLC could benefit from
incorporating Acid Jazz into their music. T-Boz' voice would be nice in
that genre. Yes, their last effort did not smoke my joint, sad to say.

On another note, I've been into new wave and other early 80s music lately,
and this stuff sounds like it was very influential to downtempo music.

You are correct Sir!, ala Phil Hartman impersonating Big ed Mc Mahon. Ther
are other besides Collins that you pointed out but I can't recall at this
time. I think I remember a song called "Gold" that was instrumental that
had the flavor of Acid Jazz but that may have been later in the 80's. Also
in this vein of the 80's I remember the 80's when Heavy Metal did not suck.
Caron Wheeler singing for Soul II Soul blew me away and Sade was and still
is da BomB!

Especialy listen to Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" if you haven't in a
while - wow, trip-hop in 1981!

"In the Air Tonight" was and is a really great song. The Drums and Bass
were awaesome. Just a shame more of this didn't get recorded.

Semper Motociclismo,
Semper Acid Jazz,

Pace'
