you know what michael, and not to beat a dead horse.. which truly it is to
late already. i never said don't post anything about parties to the list, i
said add to the subject line where the event is. this is not a big deal for
anyone out there, and it has been addressed before.
many times... and in this case as well i am sure, promoters have a mailing
list that they send out all of his promotions to. on this list area number
of people, labels, and mailing lists. this stuff is indiscriminately sent
out to mailing lists that many times the promoter isn't even a contributing
member to. it is just a pain in the ass.
i have been on many music mailing lists for years and this one is by far one
of the worst for this kind of stuff i have ever been on.
now the, "elitists with computers" comment is way out of left field. i have
no idea how me being upset about getting some spam mail and voicing my
concern makes me elitist.

points about this mailing list
1. I think it is very fair that people post events or parties related
to good music even if it is from New York or Madagascar. If you don't
like it, or can't go, then don't worry about it.
2. I'm hoping most people on this mailing list leave their houses, so
if they ever went to new york and they wanted something to do, they'll
be informed. that's what this list is about.
3. I rather read posts about cool events happening everywhere that is
promoting acid-jazz related music then hearing shrill debates on black,
white bullshit about this and that or how URB, Spin, and MTV are crap
when it seems as if nobody else is making an earnest effort to progress
music to a broader audience beyond elistist with computers.
my two cents
