Hi All,
Hate to rain on anyone else's parade, but I(along with a good amount
of friends) just can't get into the Lauryn Hill groove. I gave it a
chance; I put the Miseducation CD on in Tower recently, and I couldn't
believe how fast I flipped thru it without a single tune to fix on.
I'm not begrudging her the success she's had, but I can't get into the
music. On the other hand, people like Erykah Badu and Me'shell
Ndegeocello really GET IT. They are amazing, and I wish they had as
much recognition as Hill.
>>Hmm, she may give me a bit of a tummy ache, but, over all she makes
flipping by MTV tolerable.<<
That's funny, but I can't even watch her with the sound off. All this
'street' posturing makes me laugh, when I saw her on Showtime At The
Apollo 10 years ago, all prim and proper. That might sound harsh, but
it just seems like she's reaching a bit. Just My Opinion, that's all.
Take Care-----Paul Berger---
BTW, while on the subject, has Wyclef ever done an original tune? I
thought his 'cover' of "STAYIN' ALIVE" was a musical massacre bested
only by Puff Daddy's slaughter of "KASHMIR".
