Any opinions on Ashley Beedle's Black Jazz Orchestra? I found Future
Juju to be really impressive.
Also pretty cool in an acid-jazz vein are the new Jimpster (Messages
from the Hub) & Four Tet's Dialogue. Haven't really got a chance to
fully absorb the new J Swinscoe on Ninjatune, but the little I heard
sounded winning. And the Funky Porcini ep bodes well for the
full-length (hey, even The Wire liked it, apparently). And Hive's
Working with Sound is pretty cool, too.
Guess I'm just finding lots of great acid-jazzy things of late
(though I kinda prefer the term "psychedelic breakbeat") Not to
mention all the great hip-hop going on (Dälek!)
And the 32jazz (actually, they've got a new subdivision going:
32groove) reissue of all 4 Catalyst albums should be cause for
celebration hereabouts.
