Hey kids, here'z a few ting to do when you're around town...
Thursday, May 6th 8-12pm at Barmacy, 14th St. (btw. Aves A and B)
WFMU's "Off the Air" continues with the schizophrentic stylings of myself,
spinning every conceivably raw and/or funky genre, plenty of beats and
pieces, and straightout noise. Will be a bit more experimental, like my
radio show, but with plenty of rump shankin' hits...this week only.
And on weekly events, check...
"Organix" at Botanica, Tuesdaze from 9pm-1am, 47 E. Houston (btw. Mott and
Mulberry)
Alternating with Jes Grew, I throw down grooves, from vintage to white
label, in various categories. Underground and mind expanding sounds. No
cover, good vibe.
"Mixology 101" at Botanica, Fridaze from 5pm-3am, see info above.
10-3am I drop jams on the tables. Happy hour is from 5-7pm and has a good
neighborhood vibe (I hook up a turntable and play rekkids, so the muzak is
happenin') and the DJ mix is a bit more uptempo for the weekend crowd, but
always eclectic. Never a cover.
"Escapism" at XVI, Saturdaze from 11pm-4am, 1st Ave (btw 1st and 2nd St.)
Two floors guarantee you plenty of muzak to get down too...I'm upstair
playing much hip hop with breaks, latin, funk, and a bit of drum n' bass
while either Swingsett or Resin will be in the basement with some house,
classics, and more. Bangin'. 5 bones gets you in, or gimmee and shout and
