Advice - skip "Moon Safari" and the "Virgin Suicides" score, they're
overhyped and not nearly as good as early Air tracks. Best bet is to score
a copy of "Premiers Symptomes" - early EP with most of the tracks from the
"Modular" and "Casanova 70" 12"s on there. If you pick up the reissue of
"Premiers" that just came out last year (on 12" and CDEP) on Astralwerks
there are a couple bonus tracks on there as well, "Californie" and "Brakes
On" - 7 tracks in all, almost a mini-album. "Premiers Symptomes" lives up
to the hype that "Moon Safari" had but didn't deserve. Definitely more of
the lush/soft-focus melodies present on this one, and "Modular" is quite
possibly one of my favorite chillout tracks ever.

For some reason I feel this way about a lot of artists - i.e. first Air
singles were great, "Moon Safari" blew - Chem Bros. "Exit Planet Dust" was
amazing, "Dig Your Own Hole" went nowhere - early Basement Jaxx 12"s were
dope but "Remedy" didn't do it for me. Dunno why. - Brock
