    i agree with you on this on some level but i think that there still are alot
    of things happening - they are just fewer and farther between. i think that
    with more people entering dj culture things through popculture and the web
    as opposed to through friends or whatever, clubs have become what they are
    on the internet and in popculture as opposed to what they really were, if
    that makes any sense. it's like things completed flipped and now it's cool
    to do the whiteboyshuffle with glowsticks and your shirt off and you get
    wierd looks for doing anything else.

    on the other hand i think there are some fully incredible things happening
    too - i went to a party where they played 2step and something called "west
    coast gutter" the other week which totally blew my mind. lots of cool kids
    and the dj spun "fugees or not" by hype+zinc at 33rpm into a 2step track
    with a sick bassline. so anyways there still is cool stuff going on except
    now you have to dig reallyreally deep to find it.
