I jusr recieved Bebel Guilberto's TANTO TEMPO on Ziriguiboom records, and
it is such a beautiful album of contemporary brazilian music. I loved her
track on Brazil 2000, so I was really looking forward for the full
release, and I must say I was not disappointed. Jazzy bossa-nova with an
electronic edge. Except for track 11, the beats are subtle and subdued. Produced mostly by Suba (who also plays most of the
instruments), with collaborations by Amon Tobin, Smoke City, Arling &
Cameron, Mario Caldato Jr. and Thievery Corporation, Carlinhos Brown among
others. Despite the many guests, the flow is pretty seamless. A really
must.
