Oh obviously. But I'll be one of those people that will still be making
music...As an artist, music is my emotional outlet. I also choose not to be a
"working musician" because
having a regular job keeps me from being (more) jaded and keeps me more anchored
to reality. For me, making money with my music is a reward, not a necessity.
Sure, I have aspirations for making it "big," but not for the same reasons
everyone else has...I have my own reasons, which are too complex to explain to
most people. If I get to a level where my musical priorities overwhelm me, then
yes, I'll do it as a fulltime thing. I always feel that every piece of music I
make has to have a purpose, a meaning or else it's not worth making...That's how
I define "soul" - creating something with a purpose, turning your pain into
power. I know most people think I'm totally wack for believing all that, but
fuck 'em all.
