Over the past few months I've started to hear some decent production from
Ali-Shaheed formerly of Tribe Called Quest. Particularly "Umi Says" from Mos
Def's 'Black on Both Sides' and "Bone 2 Pic (Wit U)" on Angie Stone's new
album. Both of them very jazzy and soulful.
Tastes of cuts like these make me even more look forward to the debut music
of Lucy Pearl the group comprising of himself, Raphael Saadiq, and Dawn
Robinson from En Vogue. Anyone have any more info on the group? I believe
the album drops in May....
