Not only are many of you 31, but the keeper of the list himself is 31!
Anyways, I am 19. Anybody younger? I think that my mother's Noel Pointer
"Phantazia", Manhattan Transfer (the one with "Birdland" and "Twilight Zone,
Twilight Tone"), Blood, Sweat and Tears, and Sade "Diamond Life" records and
my father's Malo, Blood, Sweat and Tears (a different one), Dave Bruebeck,
and Sly and the Family Stone "Stand!" records helped make me funky. My
first AJ album was Incognito's "Remixed" which was quickly added to by The
Solsonic's "Jazz in the Present Tense". I was introduced by a show from
Sacramento, CA on KXJZ 88.9 FM. I still make a point to listen every
Saturday. The DJ does a good job of playing the influential classics like
Hard Bop, as well as new stuff.
