    The Realm Of Acid Jazz,

I, personally for one, a d a m EMAIL souljazzantly support these people to utilize "Jazz
Flavours" in their music. The definitions come into play frequently here on
this list and from my standpoint Acid Jazz is music that inflects "Jazz"
vibes into music that wouldn't be held in high regards by Jazz
Musicians/Artist/Instructors/Purist. I can't tell you how many guitar
lessons I sat through given by an Jazz Instructor who told me what was and
what wasn't Jazz. In the process he was very technically inclined but the
feeling was out to lunch. To me Jazz is in the ear/heart of the beholder.
So what is it Jazz or not Jazz? Hey! I commend DJ Krush who is a
turntablist for resurecting John Klemmer in Code 4019 track 5. Damn!
Awesome!!! Jazz? Probably not to an Jazz studio musician/Jazz Professor or
anyone else who is an "Purist" but on the other hand I'll be listening to
Bukem's "Sun Rain" and Krush's track 5 on Code 4019 over and over because it
GROOVES!!! One thing that puzzles me is when Klemmer played his Sax through
the Echoplex back in the 70's generally most of these Jazz "Purist"
condemned him. So it comes down to what smokes your joint? Another thing
is, recommend to me some Jazz that fits the boundaries of those who are put
off by Bukem and the others. My curiosity is churning?

Just for the Feel of it!!!,

    Pace'

    p.s.: No disrespect intended.

Likewise, I am totally grossed out by half-steppin jazz-mimicry that
pops up all over the place in dance music. Peshay (who is more of a
criminal here) and Bukem both really get under my skin in this
    regard... It's so bloody superficial...

But that's just cuz I don't know how to have fun with my dance music! hehehe
    :)
    Cheers,
