embarrassing tech question: burning vinyl

    I know this has been discussed on the list before and I should know this, but two days of frustration have made me swallow my pride.

    I'm finally trying to transfer my vinyl to my hard drive, but I'm unable to get it set up correctly. I have the turntable connected to the amp, the amp connected to the mixer, and the mixer connected to the "line in" jack of the computer. No sound. I've tried turntable to mixer to amp to "line in." No sound. I've been able to get some sound on the computer by running the line through the "mic in" jack, but I know that's not correct because I can't record the wav files.

    Can anyone help me?
