I just bought Freezone 6 today and love it! So far I've heard Disc 1 and
liked best the tracks by Maurice Fulton, Changing Shape and Isolee, all
groups I know NOTHING about. The Buckfunk 3000 track was fun too. Speaking
of Buckfunk, anyone else think Cabbageboy's album Genetically Modified was
brilliant!!??!!
Anyway, the thing I like about DJ Morpheus' compilations is that he gets a
nice mix of different styles. I wish the Future Sound of Jazz series had
continued to do the same. I picked up number 5 and thought most of it
sounded too jazzy and not much variation between tracks. (much like the
most recent Tribes of Da Underground)
Thanks to those who responded to my post asking about Rollercone and
Palmskin Productions. I'm listening to Kunstruck right now and I like it,
much more upbeat and electro/breakbeat oriented than Remixilir, although I
think the last two tracks on Remixilir are two of the best acid jazz chill
out anthems of all time.
