Yeah...
Two weeks ago Dj Food and Kid Koala gigged aat Rust in Copenhagen.
It was the absolutely most uplifting event in the sense of happy wack deep
groove. Uplifting and joyfully performed by an entertainer in the true
ambidextrous sense. The kid is extremely entertaining in between
acts where he cracks up on the mic.
The ambience was positive and groovy and people were happy.
Picked up some very nice and highly recommendable vinyl.
7" Bullfrog - Funny, and skilfully done.
10 " Amon Tobin - Slowly / Bad sex.
10 " Kid Koala - Emperors main course in Cantonese.
All worth digging and have been aired in my radioshow;
Kick Jazz , Copenhagen. Those of you who havent yet
picked up Carpal Tunnel Syndrome can look forward to a
very gruesome tale of scratche, datings, drunken trumpets,
all melted in the cutup style of Willam S Burroughs.
Loads of respect and best wishes for a happy event once
again when Dj food and Kid Koala attends the Roskilde Festival.
And even better in this very context; Amon Tobin.

Tomorrow Rainer Trüby is coming to town again. This time
at Vega, one of the best concert / club scenes around.
Last week Jazzanova stopped by at Rust gigging an inspiring
yet at times too slick jazzfunky groove.
For your benefit theres some information about Kid Koala.

I think it is entitled; The emperors main course in Cantonese.
A quite witty track and as always with the kid, full of intertwingled
and odd bites of this and that.
This routine's one of the first track off the fabled "Scratchratchratch..." mixtape - and not on the 10" vinyl of Scratchappyland. So it's worth scoring.
Check out his backingband ; Bullfrog. FOrgot their webadress though.

They're also on tour with Koala in N. America at the moment - full band setup with another scratch DJ from Montreal serving as Koala's second set of arms - apparently they perform the whole Scratchappyland routine live. Have yet to see it myself, waiting for reports from the East Coast to filter in bit by bit :)
More also at http://www.kidkoala.com. The counter on that site's gotta be wrong, it says 00004 visitors but I've looked at it half a dozen times myself! Pretty nifty sketches by the Kid himself and tour dates listed.
