    r. scott is generally very tolerant of things, so when i read his post about
    how "house sucks" i had to laugh!!

    naturally, i feel that there is good house, but it does need to be sought
    out--there's way too much crap. i agree w/r. scott's
    position of playing devil's advocate--sometimes i think that house music
    needs to be taken down a few pegs. when people talk about house "changing
    their life" i try to not look at them as though they're crazy. a great
    house set is really enriching, but i don't find it as revolutionary
    musically or culturally as hiphop--i think that house's origins are much too
    obvious.
    i don't think hiphop is *better*, i just relate to it a lot more--black
    science orchestra (ashley beedle & friends) is great, but i'm more moved by
    the new mos def (black on both sides).
