    hey Jeroen et al,

yep, while I could never say that I preferred the Pumpkins to the Pixies
(no way, no how), I have to agree that the first two Pumpkins albums were,
um, Smashing. seriously though, 'Gish' was absolutely unreal when it first
came out...that and the first Buffalo Tom LP will forever remind me of a
very specific period in my listening history....

....then again, all this rock gushing likely stems from the fact that I've
been absorbing 60's/70's 'psychedelic' etc. rock in doses here and there
over the past while. there's *a lot* to hear there that relates to some of
the studio production going on now (sonically). gheesh, (on a related note)
last night I was listening to early Sonic Youth and some Jesus and Mary
    Chain....

...now some brand new Thievery, Marcus Turcotte aka Sirus (sweet house
coming out on NRK in the near future), and the Bossa Mundo comp. dont'cha
    just love music. :-)
