Good music, great venue (Commodore Ballroom), packed house, groovy
people,
nice party.
Why do I feel slightly disappointed?
Call me square but playing the album (sans vocals) over the PA system
doesn't quite do it for me.
I can find that at the disco or a house party.
Those deep grooves are great but I want to see that trumpet player
or a percussionist.
The retro campy video was amusing.
The principles appeared (in silhouette) to be DJ-ing.
The singers appeared live (in silhouette) which is cool.
I guess economic constraints make it difficult to tour with a band
and I presume it is an anti ego statement to keep the performers in the
dark.
For my money it's just disengaging.
St. Germaine appear in December.
Great album, I wonder if I should check it out "live".
