Just saw the Roots on the OK Player tour last night. They've got a drummer,
2 Rhodes players, bass, guitar, turntables and the human turntable guy,
who's name I forgot but who's pretty impressive.
Also a stellar collection of MC's, including Bahamadia, Guru, Dice Raw, Slum
Village, Talib Kweli, etc. Pretty awesome show, but terrible sound and I
couldn't really hear what the turntablist was adding to the mix.
Hey, on another tip; Has anyone come out with some how-to books or videos of
turntablism? Somebody could make decent money getting Craze, Cut Chemist,
Kid Koala and whatnot to demonstrate the techniques. I'd be in line to pick
one up, that's for sure.
