first a comment: saw Theivery "live" summer b4 last.
They spun a hugely vigorous and eclectic set which
satisfied me to the fullest. They played little if any
of their own stuff, certainly no instruments, but it
was a great set in and of itself.
Now, query. Send in your best experiences or examples
of instruments and records working together well. The
seminal "DJ" scratching over a band is so tired. I
don't have much experience seeing instrumental
musicians and djs work well together. Along those
lines, Reprezent was fascinating to watch.
I saw a guy play trumpet over a set once, also a
drummer over a set. I'm dusting off some old
instruments for experiments and daydreaming about
effects processors.
Tell me what you think works and doesn't work.
