some of you may have known this already, but some may
not. The basis of "Rose Rouge" is Tito Puente's
version of "Take 5" (in 4/4 btw). His band is so
tight that if you wait a little bit for the band to
start the song and get into a groove, you can mix it
pretty flawlessly for a while. Impress your friends
and 50-something cuban men in cowboy hats.
I have that version of Take 5 on a comp called "Jazz
Juice". I basically bought it for that track, the rest
is good but a little campy, and I don't regret it.
