Hey Folks,
As you may or may not now, Comet records has a series of five
releases under the name The Allenko Brotherhood Project. They teamed
up Tony Allen (Fela's incredible drummer) with scads of different
producers. The first 12" a few months back had one from IG Culture
and one from Joakim Lone, and was completely amazing.
A new one just dropped this week with tracks from Kraked Unit and
Bigga Bush, neither of whom I have heard of. The Kraked Unit track is
*brilliant* though. Mostly live, pleasing arrangement and very
kicked-back vocals. It's a cool soul-afrobeat fusion. I'm all over it.
Having never heard of Kraked Unit before, I was wondering if any of
y'all might know anything? Previous releases? I presume they're
French.
There are three more 12"s coming out! I can't wait!
