Ok,
just a couple of things to say about this thread.
first of all what breaks list are you talking about? I'm on a breakbeat list
where they talk about nu-skool breaks mainly. I was getting into this quite
a bit over the last few years - labels like TCR, Botchit & Scarper and the
like - but the whole nu skool thing has lost a lots of its freshness and
energy. A lot of it is either boring half-baked breakbeat garage, or its
just not really musically exciting enough. However with the broken beat/west
london stufff I'm hearing all the different vibes that I'm into kind of
rolled into one. I love a lot of jazzy stuff and a lot of chilled stuff but
every now and then I love to hear the odd bassline or dirty groove. For me
the broken beat just sounds so fresh and exciting at the mo'.
Anyone else feel the same?
