    >Anyone else enjoying some of the more straight-up jungle around these days?
    >Danny Breaks' _Music for Extraterrestials_ and the new Ed Rush & Optical
    >have been kicking my ass fairly righteously of late--

The new Dillija RMX of J Majik's "love is not a game" kicks ass in the way
only Dillija can kick it, heard Fabio drop it last week and I knew it was by
D man...now its out on white label...soon on defected

...raw I'm gonna give it to ya, with no trivia raw like cocaine straight
    from Bolivia...

Stakka & Skynet, and Kemal & Rob Data have had some nice releases on Audio
Blueprint which ride the edge between dancefloor and chill (moody) drum &
bass...driving, well produced and minimal, think photek with a bit more umph
    and direction.

All of the releases on Subtitles (TeeBee & K 's label) have been dope as
hell, ranging from dubwise hard space funk with touches of jazz to tearing
    warehouse stormers.

Reinforced has been hit and miss (as always with their voluminous output)
but the Paradox singles have been by far the best...minimal and dubbed out
with splashes of super intricate drum programming...like square pusher with
    some restraint and dancefloor sense.

There is also this !crazy!, hyperactive song that I just discovered by
Chromatix called "Jalepeno" which drops a bunch of latin horn licks and a
crazy latin breakdown mixed with a hardass/borderline jump up body. Perhaps
the most purely "dancefloor" DnB cut I've ever heard!

I feel like a blasphemer here but, there is just something about some of new
Hospital DnB singles that just aren't as *absolutely brilliant* as the
"Songs in the Key of Knife" era productions. Don't get me wrong, they're
great tunes, just not as intricately orchestrated and programmed as the
early stuff. I suppose the Landslide album and Outpatients make up for it
though...hopefully the Plastic Surgery 2 will make me have no more
doubts...can't wait to hear the John B cut!

    peace,
