"Magalenha" on Sergio Mendes' Brasileiro also begins with a killer triangle
groove. The first two cuts on this album are impressive and well-executed
batucadas. This is to be expected since they are the result of a
collaboration with some of Rio's best samba schools and Carlinhos Brown. The
rest of the album, however, is really embarrassing and to be avoided.
Generally, I think you'll find a lot of batucada/street samba pieces that
rely heavily on the triangle since it's part of the typical instrumentation
used in these genres.

"Expansions" by Lonnie Liston Smith .... opens with the triangle.... been
sampled to death ....
For such a simple instrument, getting a nice "groove" out of it is a real
accomplishment.... my .02
