Here's my take on the N'Sync 2-step thing...A lot of people tell me, "Oh
no! 2-step is gonna die cos N'Sync jumped on the bandwagon!" But hey, so
they came out with a pop song with a 2-step beat. 11 years ago Madonna came
out with a pop song with a house beat, and that didn't kill house music.
Sugar Ray makes tunes with hip-hop beats, so does Limp Bizkit. Does that
spell the end of hip-hop?
What I DO find atrocious is some even MORE wack examples of pop
2-step...There's some fool named Jimmy Cozier who has a song called (you
ready for this?) "Two Steps" on the "Dr. Dolittle 2" soundtrack. I tell ya,
he not only makes a weak 2-step track, but he does a total textbook rip off
of Craig David. Go to www.cdnow.com and listen to that track on the Dr.
Dolittle 2 soundtrack if you dare... The moron who produced it was so
shortsighted that he thought all 2-step would sound like "Fill Me In."
Remember when all these commercial jingle writers thought all acid-jazz
sounded like "Cantaloop"? Or all drum n bass sounded like Photek?
